Andrew Cobb at Mt. Ruapehu in New Zealand's
North Island. Andrew is spending his year
abroad in New Zealand.

David met John, then a U.S. serviceman, while working as a translator for the Army in Iraq. Learning that he was on a hit list posted in a local mosque, David realized he had to leave the country and attempted to escape through Syria. Though he was captured on his first try, he ultimately made his way out of Iraq and into Ukraine. From there, he flew to the United States, joining John in San Marcos. During his first year at Texas State, David gave many presentations on his life in Iraq, including his experiences as a Christian there.
